System Optimization

We carefully analyze each energy machine and system to uncover inefficiencies in control, transfer, and flow. We optimize district cooling plant operations, including chillers, water flow, and pressure issues.

As a specialized Energy Services Company (ESCO), we help resolve common recurring performance problems for owners, including:

Low at Syndrome: Chilled water systems often suffer from a lower-than-designed difference between supply and return temperature. This “low Delta T” condition forces pumps and chillers to work harder, wasting energy.

High kW/Ton: Many cooling plants operate inefficiently, using over 1 kW/ton instead of the achievable 0.8–0.9. Aging chillers, incorrect setpoints, and always-on equipment increase energy consumption. We optimize staging, fine-tune machines and systems, and adjust pump speeds to reduce kW/ton.

Controls and Sequencing Issues: Aging or poorly configured control systems often lead to erratic operation. Examples include sensors out of calibration or suboptimal chiller sequencing. Proper sequencing and controls tuning can significantly cut energy use while maintaining comfort.

Load Management: Poor load management happens when oversized cooling systems run unnecessarily, wasting energy. Shifting weather and occupancy worsen inefficiencies without dynamic adjustments. Optimizing HVAC and chilled water systems boosts efficiency and reduces costs.

Poor Maintenance Practices: In the GCC, HVAC systems face extreme heat and long hours, yet some facilities rely on reactive maintenance. Neglecting chiller fine-tuning, pump servicing, and cooling tower water treatment increases energy use.

We identify key improvement areas to optimize performance and reduce energy consumption. Waste often comes from calibration issues, fluctuating loads, or poor maintenance. Our approach ensures peak efficiency with targeted interventions and real-time monitoring, achieving sustainable operations and lowering energy costs.
